UltraTech Cement appoints Chandrashekhar Chavan as CHRO

In an exchange filing dated 3 January 2024, Aditya Birla Group revealed the appointment of Chandrashekhar Chavan as the chief human resources officer (CHRO) of UltraTech Cement, effective 1 April 2024. He currently serves as the CHRO of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail.

This development has taken place following the exit of Santrupt Misra, Director HR of Aditya Birla Group.

Chandrashekhar has served as the CHRO of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail since 2012. Over the past decade he has been instrumental in integration of multiple diverse businesses. He has been with the group  since 1996.

In the series of transition, Ramesh Mitragotri, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), UltraTech Cement was elevated to take on Ramchandran’s position.

“The Board of Directors at its meeting held today, based on the recommendation of the Nomination, Remuneration and Compensation Committee, considered and approved the appointment of Mr. Chandrashekhar Chavan, as Chief Human Resource Officer (Designate), Senior Management Personnel of the Company with effect from 16th February, 2024. He will take on the role of Chief Human Resource Officer from 1st April, 2024,” the company said in the filing.

The board also noted the movement of Mitragotri into another role within the Aditya Birla Group. He will continue in his role with the Company till 31 March 2024.

During his association with the group since 1996, he has worked across a number of Group entities ranging from UltraTech Cement, Aditya Birla Management Corporation, Hindalco Industries and Aditya Birla Capital.
