After ten years how do you find this law in meeting its objectives?
AK In this decade, as a POSH Consultant and an active practitioner in industry, we had come across different phases of compliances. Initially, the organisations were reluctant to even think about this subject and its compliances amongst the organisation was next to impossible. Post the journey from # MeToo, #shetootill #mentoo movement, the acceptability of the subject has been uplifted. Moreover, the emphasis post G20 summit and Women Reservation Bill, 2023, the situations have varied in the industry.
We have observed that a lot of trainings and awareness are provided amongst the employees in an industry but either these awareness sessions are limited only to one recognized group or is not available for the other segments within industry, believing that the other employees will not understand the cause, pith and substance of the real statutory enactment.
