Lucknow, January 31 (TNA) Three people including EPFO Assistant Commissioner and Inspector were arrested in the state capital for taking a bribe of Rs 12 lakh. The anti-corruption unit of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday arrested Assistant Commissioner Gyanendra Kumar, Inspector Puneet Singh and Consultant Manish Singh of the Capital-based Employees Provident Fund Organization Office (EPFO) red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 12 lakh.

The Bureau raided the residence of the trio late in the night, where documents of properties and evidence of investments were being collected. Khurshedbag resident Vani System Pvt. Ltd. Director Rajeev Shukla had complained to CBI that his company deals in human resource supply. The EPF office is assessing the company.
Even after submitting the documents, Assistant Commissioner Gyanendra and Inspector Puneet are demanding a bribe of Rs 12 lakh for not imposing tax wrongly. Manish was playing the role of mediator. CBI caught all three from the EPF office on Tuesday evening. The accused will be presented in the special CBI court on Wednesday.
