Termination valid for suppressing information

Supreme court in Satish Chandra Yadav vs. Union of India & Ors. SLA No. 20860/2019, on September 26, 2022, affirming the dismissal of the employee who withheld the information about his involvement in the criminal case observed that the reason of termination of his services by the employer was not due to his involvement in the criminal case (which was then pending, and in which he had been acquitted subsequently) but the fact that he had withheld relevant information while filling in the verification form.
