SpiceJet, a budget air carrier established in 2005, has announced an increase in the salary of its pilots to Rs 7.5 lakh per month for 75 hours of flying. The company made this decision on the occasion of its 18th anniversary, and the new salary structure will come into effect from May 16, 2023. In November 2022, the airline had already revised the salaries of its pilots, raising the monthly salary for Captains to INR 7 lakh for 80 hours of flying. The company has also proportionately increased the salaries of Trainers (DE, TRI) and First Officers.
In addition, the airline has introduced a monthly loyalty reward program for its Captains, linked to their tenure, with the potential to earn up to INR 1,00,000 per month. This reward will be provided on top of their regular monthly salary.

Furthermore, earlier today, Chairman Ajay Singh announced to the employees that the Budget carrier has commenced the restoration process of its grounded aircraft. The utilization of USD 50 million in funds acquired from the ECLGS scheme, as well as the airline’s internal cash accruals, makes this initiative possible.
In a letter addressed to the employees, Singh also shared the exciting news that the carrier will soon be launching new flights on captivating routes.
He also encouraged the employees to maintain their dedication to upholding the highest service standards as the company looks ahead to more exciting years.
