Skill India Camp to hire 1Lakh apprentices at over 700 locations

(IANS) : Skill India is organizing a one-day ‘Apprenticeship Fair’ on April 21 at more than 700 locations across the country to help hire more than one lakh apprentices and employers to use the right skills. Can be helped. Set of practical skills.

The mega event will see the participation of more than 4000 organizations across the country, working in more than 30 sectors such as power, retail, telecom, IT / ITeS, electronics, automotive, etc.

In addition, aspiring young people will have the opportunity to join and choose from over 500+ trades, including welders, electricians, housekeepers, beauticians, and mechanics. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has also made several efforts to increase the number of apprentices employed by businesses in the country.

It aims to bridge the gap between supply and demand of skilled manpower and meet the aspirations of Indian youth by providing on-the-job training and better employment opportunities. Students who have passed at least Class 5, those who have graduated from 12th class, are eligible to apply at the Skill Training Certificate Holders, ITI Students, Diploma Holders and Graduate Apprenticeship Fair.

Potential applicants will reap many benefits by attending the Apprenticeship Fair. They have a great opportunity to get an apprenticeship offered on the spot and to get a direct exposure of the industry. After that, they will receive a monthly stipend according to government standards for developing new skills, an opportunity to earn while learning. Candidates will receive a certificate recognized by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), which will enhance their employment prospects after training.
