Sangram Gaikwad, project manager at the Dapoli branch of the State Bank of India has been arrested by the coastal police in Dabhol, Ratnagiri in Maharashtra for his alleged involvement in the suicide of a fellow bank employee, Neelima Chavan according to media reports.
Neelima Chavan, aged 24, had been employed at the Dapoli branch since April 15 of this year. Her disappearance on July 29 prompted her father to file a formal complaint with the Dabhol police. Unfortunately, Chavan’s remains were discovered in a deteriorated condition and without hair in the Dabhol creek on August 1.
Following the recovery of her body, a post-mortem examination was conducted by the authorities. The examination findings indicated no internal or external injuries. The analysis of her bodily samples revealed that her cause of death was asphyxia due to drowning.

Chavan’s father Sudhakar had told the cops that Gaikwad was pressuring Chavan to achieve fortnight targets and work even during holidays.
Additionally, he alleged that Gaikwad had made threats of termination, a situation that might have driven her to take such a drastic measure.
In the course of the investigation, the police meticulously questioned hundreds of individuals before ultimately apprehending the accused individual, as confirmed by the Ratnagiri police.
