Right to Protest at Any Location Is Not Fundamental Right

Kerala High Court, in Federal Bank Ltd. vs. Federal Bank Officer’s Association (OP(C) No: 2332 of 2023), restrained the trade union from staging protests within a 50-meter radius of the bank’s head office and nearby branches. The Court noted that there is no fundamental right to protest at any location of choice, and reasonable restrictions can be imposed on such rights if justified.
