Retiring employee is entitled to increment falling on the same day: Gujarat HC

Gujarat High Court in Jayanti Bhai Bahechar Bhai Patel vs. State of Gujarat C.P. No. 20181/2022, directed the employer to pay the increment of an employee (which was denied on the ground that the employee was retired on the date of actual payment of increment), holding that the entitlement to receive increment crystallises when the employee completes requisite length of service with good conduct and becomes payable on the succeeding day.
