Resignation is deemed to be accepted after expiry of period if service rules do not provide for formal acceptance: Supreme Court

Supreme Court in The Managing Director, The Campco Limited vs. B. Vishnu Murthy C.A. No. 2583/2022, relying upon the applicable service rules (wherein therewas no such rule to the contrary that a letter of resignation tendered by the employee has to be formally accepted) held that the resignation letter tendered by the employee became automatically effected on expiry of the notice period, asno formal acceptance was required under the scheme of rules.
