Punishment should be in proportion to gravity of misconduct: Rajasthan HC

Rajasthan High Court in Shashi Bala Meena vs. Punjab National Bank through its Managing Director-Cum-Chief Executive Officer &Ors. (S.B. Civil Writ Petition No. 7612/2015) held that imposing punishment of compulsory retirement on the employee who wilfully remain absent without leave after transfer orders were issued is harsh and disproportionate to the gravity of misconduct.
