The Covid-19 pandemic has hit the globe very badly. It didn’t only ruin lives personally but also made hell difficult for the corporate people as well.
As per the report, during the pandemic women lost jobs more than men. Moreover, only a fewer women have returned to work.
Furthermore, the number of women actively looking for work has also reduced by 3 million between 2019 to 2021, as per the report from CMIE (Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy) and CEDA (Centre for Economic Data and Analysis).

As per the CMIE data urban India had 22.1% fewer women employed in 2021 than in 2019. In 2019, about 9.52 million were actively searching for jobs which had reduced to 6.52 million in 2021.
On the other hand, males earlier actively searching for jobs had increased in 2021 by 19.7% whereas it was earlier by 14.9%.
But the trend of few women employees returning to the workforce was observed in rural areas and urban areas. In urban India, only 2.57 million women actively searched for jobs every month in 2021 as compared to 3.87 million in 2019. On the other hand, in rural India, only 3.95 million women were actively searching for a job, whereas earlier 5.61 million women were searching for a job in 2019.
If we compare the data among males and females. Then we can see that males have actively increased their job search more than females.
