On March 8, 2022, The Government of Madhya Pradesh exempted restaurants and eating houses from the applicability of provisions relating to opening and closing hours under the Madhya Pradesh Shops and Establishments Act, 1958 (“MP Shops Act“) subject to the following conditions: (a) every employee shall be given 1 (one) day holiday in a week; and (b) no employee shall be called for work for more than 48 (forty eight) hours in a week.
