Based on a real-time review of the demand and supply of temporary jobs in India, the Index report details various trends in temporary jobs across sectors and occupations.

The report further revealed that consumer buying behavior triggered by the pandemic has led to significant growth in platform usage and digital payments.

In the past two years, these trends have added to the growing demand for temporary workers in the fintech and e-commerce industries, which continue to gain momentum amid the festive season, he noted.

Following growth in the e-commerce sector, job profiles such as hiring last-mile delivery executives increased 12%, followed by 10% growth for telephone operators in June.

Among all cities monitored, Mysore outperformed Tier I cities, with a 23% increase in gig booking demand, followed by Bengaluru (up 16%), Kanpur (up 14%), Lucknow (up up 13.3 per cent), Bhopal (up 13.3 per cent), Coimbatore (up 12.7 per cent), Shivamogga (up 12.7 per cent), and Delhi (up 12 per cent), according to the report.
