Two years on from the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Gen Zs and millennials still find themselves in uniquely unsettling times as their long-term plans and aspirations for a more inclusive and sustainable world continue to be undermined by global threats and daily challenges, with no chances of resolution. The Deloitte 2021 survey on the Gen Z has pointed out that mental health challenges have become an epicenter of concern. Wellbeing is the most sought-after word in 2022 precisely. Everywhere across the world, people are looking into immediate gratification of their desire hidden under the code word of wellbeing. This situation however reminds me of Marx who said Capitalism is that maze that keeps you going on and on and has no exit. Very similarly, in their quest for gratification Gen Z is stuck in a phase where “nothing is enough”. The constant FOMO (Fear of missing out) of the brighter and the attractive have seeped into the thoughts of an entire generation with anxiousness.
