Independent consultant is not workman under ID Act: Gujarat High Court

Gujarat High Court in Santram Spinners Limited vs. Babu bhai Magandas Patel SCA No. 10741/2008, placing reliance on the documentary evidence (such as bills, statements of tax deducted at source, etc.) produced before the Court by the employer held that the individual was working as a consultant and not as a workman therefore the said individual cannot seek protection under the ID Act.
