COVID-19’s magnitude of change has transformed our perspective on how work is done. What we do for a living hasn’t changed, but how and where we do it has. Because of the speed with which this transition occurred, businesses were obliged to alter their business models and swiftly adopt technology to facilitate remote working, challenging traditional concepts of the working week and the physical office.
As employees return to offices, many are still too habituated to their daily routines. Disruptions to the way work is done will continue until 2022 and beyond as businesses struggle to achieve a compromise between what works well for the business and what works well for people. Even if pandemic concerns have faded away, a thriving hybrid work environment will remain relevant in 2022. The new working model shall balance to support employee productivity and well-being.
