After eight years of POSH Law, do you think it has achieved its objectives and has delivered what was expected of it?
SY After 8 years of POSH Law, the key objectives of the law to provide protection against sexual harassment of women at workplace, prevention and redressal of complaints etc. have been met partially to the extent of creating awareness through mandatory yearly sessions, sensitizing employees, formulation of policy, constitution of committee for redressal etc. of course resulting into penal provisions in case of non-compliance, even leading to cancellation of license etc. Fake POSH cases are increasing day by day and internal complaints committees are finding it hard to decrease the no. of fake or malicious cases as they lead to innocent men facing humiliation from the society.
The constant increase in the malicious POSH complaint has led some thinkers to believe that in some POSH Act has failed to serve the purpose of building a society free which adheres to the norms of right to equality.
