HR manager asked for sexual favour to get deceased father’s PF release: woman alleges

HR manager asked for sexual favour to get deceased father’s PF release

A 23-year-old woman from Bandra (E), Mumbai has filed a police complaint against a private company’s HR manager, accusing him of demanding sexual favours in exchange for releasing her deceased father’s provident fund (PF). The incident, which came to light on Wednesday, has sparked outrage and prompted Mumbai police to take action.

The woman, who works as a domestic help and lives with her younger brother and grandmother, detailed her ordeal in the complaint. Her father passed away in 2015 when she was 15 years old, and she was named the nominee for his PF.

Despite submitting multiple forms to claim the PF, the company allegedly withheld the payment, citing delays and bureaucratic hurdles.

Frustrated by the prolonged wait, the woman contacted the HR manager of the company, only to face further distress.

According to her complaint, the HR manager demanded sexual favours to expedite the release of her father’s PF. Shocked and appalled by the unethical request, the woman documented the conversations as evidence and approached the authorities for justice.

The Mumbai police have taken cognizance of the matter and booked the accused HR manager under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act. However, the accused is yet to be arrested, leaving the woman and her family anxiously awaiting justice for the exploitation they have endured during an already challenging time of mourning and financial struggle.
