The factors that contribute are a technology-driven “always-on” culture, cost-cutting leading to reduced workforce, and increased demands on productivity. Work overload happens when an individual’s job demands surpass their ability to handle them. Studies by McKinsey Health Institute indicate that approximately 59% of employees report feeling burnout in India which is significantly higher than the world average of 20%. High-pressure industries, especially tech and healthcare, have seen higher incidences, with remote work blurring the boundaries between work and personal life, escalating the issue.
