Wellness has been one of our key pillars for engagement for the last couple of years. We look at the topic holistically as emotional, physical and social wellness. For emotional wellness we provide a specialized service to express their concerns and thoughts in a free and open manner. These conversations are totally confidential.

During covid pandemic turmoil, most people have been through isolation, depression and anxiety, which are certainly going to reflect in their work attitude. How HR should address this challenge?

UR This is a real problem as people are worried about their future, whether their jobs will stay, uncertainty over children’s education, pay cuts, mounting burden of loans and simply not being able to move around freely in their own country. That is quite a bit to handle for any human being and most certainly employees will be scared and worried. If seen from another perspective it is also an opportunity for HR to show up powerfully to support the employees. Forming an Emergency Response Team is a priority to deal with the day to day situations during times of crisis and provide direction to the organization on what to do and what not to do about work systems, alternate methods of working, motivation and morale programs are all very important.
