Do you think I am Mad?
Mental health in the workplace is a topic that's still stigmatized, especially at the leadership level. There's an expectation that leaders should always have it together and that they should be immune to the struggles faced by others.

I hadn’t even completed my probation period when I noticed the meeting request on my calendar. The request was from one of the managers I hadn’t interacted with much yet, but whose name I had heard far too often in hushed conversations and whispered complaints. Something about the urgency of the meeting felt off, and I wondered what it could be about. As I prepared for the day, I made a mental note to be patient and open-minded. But truth be told, I had a sinking feeling about what was coming.

The next day, as I sat across from him, his agitation was palpable. He fidgeted in his seat and looked like someone who had rehearsed what he wanted to say but was still unsure if it would come out right. “Sir, I need to talk to you about something important,” he began, his voice low but trembling. “It’s about my boss.”

I braced myself. “Go ahead,” I said, knowing where this was likely heading.

“She’s been very abusive,” he blurted out. “Harassing, rude. I can’t take it...
