Despite Progress, Women Are Still Under-represented in Leadership Roles

What are the most significant challenges/barriers that women face in today’s workplace? What has been your experience?

RP There has been an influx of women in the workforce in the past few decades, which has been a welcome change. However, women are still faced with several significant challenges. One of the most persistent issues, I believe, is the gender pay gap. This issue remains one of the most common issues faced by women in the workforce. There’s an urgent need to bridge this pay gap to close the disparity between the treatment of women and men in the professional sphere.

Then there’s the detestable “glass ceiling”, women in the workforce have to combat multiple barriers to advancement. The traditional expectations from a woman- pregnancy, childcare, and household responsibilities – contribute heavily to biases against female workers.
