Andhra Pradesh High Court in SBTS Devi vs. State of Andhra Pradesh and Others (W.P No. 6396/2024) overturned the termination of a contractual employee who was dismissed for allegedly demanding bribes via WhatsApp. The Court held that if termination is based on allegations, it must be treated as stigmatic and punitive, and the employee must be given a chance to defend themselves. The ruling emphasized that even contractual employees are entitled to a hearing before their dismissal
