AT In the past, job requirements remained static and hence finding the right person to fit the job has been serving the purpose. Progressive companies had a formal succession plan for replacement in the event of the concerned job holder quitting the job. Now the job itself has become constantly evolving. Therefore, there is a need to shift the focus on skill sets and constantly sharpening the saw.

What are the challenges inherent in this approach of hiring and how organisations should address such challenges to optimize benefits?
