HR needs to leverage technology to ensure people connect is not lost
The revenue streams of the organisations were drying up very fast and they were gradually feeling compelled to tightly hold on to their coffers to stay afloat. Organisations took hard stands of not paying wages or implementing severe wage cuts for the employees in order to remain afloat as a business entity.

Do you feel that business leaders and HR’s focus is now back on people? What are the possible reasons for change in this paradigm shift?

SB I am not much in agreement with the first part of the question. I do not think “people” or “people issues” had ever gone out of focus from the business leaders and the HR professionals. The pandemic has only caused them to realign& re-adjust the focus of their lenses at areas beyond productivity and results. People are now viewed in a much more holistic manner where their mental well-being and emotional engagement with the organisation is given equal importance, if not more, with the hard data driven performance outcomes which till now determined the worth of an employee. The value of human lives has assumed unprecedented importance across all organisations. Business Leaders and HR professionals are now increasing their focus on the physical and mental wellness of employees which till about 18 months back always...
