Unauthorised absence sufficient for dismissal: Tripura HC

High Court of Tripura, in the case of Bikramjit Debbarma vs. The State of Tripura and Others [WP(C) No. 797 of 2023], addressed the issue of whether the employee was absent without authorization and whether he was provided a fair opportunity to respond. The court concluded that the employee’s unauthorized absence from duty constituted sufficient grounds for dismissal, as he had been given multiple chances to explain his conduct. Consequently, the court rejected the writ petition and upheld the termination of the employee.
