Automation is about making processes more efficient, but the essence of HR-understanding and caring for people-should always be led by human insight. The future is a partnership between tech and people, not a replacement for one with the other.

SD Implementing automation in HR processes can feel like a double-edged sword for leaders. On one hand, automation boosts efficiency, speeds up the completion of repetitive tasks, and ensures accuracy and process adherence. On the other hand, there’s a risk of losing the personal touch that HR is built, especially in areas like employee engagement which requires high interpersonal skills. A key challenge is ensuring that employees don’t feel alienated by automated systems, which could come off as impersonal or robotic. For instance, if performance reviews or onboarding processes are fully automated, employees may feel they are being assessed solely based on metrics or a checklist being executed as a tick-in-the-box activity while missing out on the human connect.
