The unrealistic expectation that women must "have it all" exacerbates work-life balance challenges, leading to burnout and stress. Ambition in women is sometimes stigmatized, leading them to be labelled as "aggressive" or "unfeminine," discouraging them from asserting themselves.

What are the most significant challenges/barriers that women face in today’s workplace? What has been your experience?

AL Women encounter a variety of significant challenges and barriers in today’s workplace, many of which are longstanding while others are evolving with the times.

Commonly recognized issues include Workplace Harassment and Discrimination, Micro aggressions, Lack of Support for Returning to Work, Unequal Access to High-Visibility Projects, Maternity and Parental Leave Stigma, Inadequate Support for Mental Health, Lack of Female Role Models in many industries, Unequal Distribution of “Office House work”, Cultural and Organizational Norms, Networking Gaps in Male-Dominated Fields, Resistance to Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives, Limited Access to Flexible Work Arrangements, Intersectional Barriers, etc.
