What are the most significant challenges/barriers that women face in today’s workplace? What has been your experience?
AD I’ve travelled countries and one thing that I’ve noticed is that workplace bias exists in almost every country, in one form or another. One of the biggest challenges women face is the persistent stereotype that leadership qualities are inherently male. I’ve encountered this personally, even in environments where people seem progressive. A woman’s capability to lead or excel in traditionally male-dominated fields is often questioned. In so many organisations Ihad noticed women in leadership positions were often critiqued for being “too soft” when they showed empathy or “too aggressive” when they took charge, creating a no-win situation.
