No wilful or negligent behavour if employee absents due to illness: Telangana HC

Telangana High Court in Amrutamma vs. Managing Director and Anr. [Writ Petition No. 26966 of 2011] while adjudicating upon a matter involving the termination of a workman who was absent from work for an extended period without authorization, and subsequently passed away, ordered that although the absence due to ill health was unauthorized, it will not be considered as willful or negligent behavior considering that the workman suffered severe health setback and he confined to bed till his death.
