MUMBAI/NEW DELHI: June08, 2022: Bharti AXA Life Insurance, a joint venture between Bharti Enterprises, one of India’s leading business groups, and AXA, one of the world’s largest insurance companies, today, announced that Ms. Dhanashree Thakkar, Vice President HR, has been elevated as Head of Human Resources. She replaces Mr. Jai Balan, who will move on after completing the transition process by June 2022.
Dhanashree joined Bharti AXA Life in September 2020 and helmed several key initiatives in her role. She currently has been responsible for driving talent management, employee engagement, performance management and compensation & benefits. Dhanashree has led diversity and inclusion across the board, while also championing employee safety & well-being through various programmes at Bharti AXA Life.

Dhanashree brings nearly two decades of rich expertise in the human resources domain. Having worked in geographies like India and China, her vast work experience includes positions at multinationals McDonalds, Korn Ferry, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Kotak Life Insurance. Dhanashree was previously the Chief People Officer at Group Office-Future Group, where she supervised the group’s restructuring and workforce optimization efforts. She has managed several businesses and change transformation projects for Kotak Life Insurance and McDonalds India.
Apart from that, she holds a master’s degree in Organizational and Industrial Psychology from the University of Mumbai and has also taken a General Management Program course for Senior Managers from IIM, Ahmedabad and a Certification in People Analytics from the prestigious Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, USA.
