94% Automotive firms struggle to recruit in specialized fields like AI, SDVs & Cybersecurity, says Skill

In a comprehensive effort to understand the skill gap in the Indian automotive sector and uncover insights for development, EdTech platform Skill-Lync conducted an extensive survey and released the “Automotive Talent Trends Report – 2024.” According to the report, 94% of respondents find it challenging to recruit in specialized fields such as cybersecurity, software-defined vehicles (SDV), advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and artificial intelligence (AI). Furthermore, 60-65% of the talent requirements in companies are for mid-level professionals with 3-7 years of experience.

Skill-Lync recently achieved a milestone of partnering with 100 automotive organizations to upskill & reskill their workforce. They conducted a survey involving over 220 leaders from the Engineering and HR divisions of top automotive firms in India. The survey highlights the latest trends and advancements, focusing on emerging technologies, talent development, and the future of skilling in mobility.

There is a growing demand for professionals skilled in Data Analytics, AI, SDV, and ADAS as vehicles become more connected and autonomous

Over 60% of respondents of Skill-Lync’s survey indicated that their prime focus will shift towards these technologies in the next three years
